Further to my recent post with the same link. NZ advisory businesses need to be making enough money to pay the bills to be around to help and service clients. Yes, we have our ratbags, significantly fewer than we had before the current regulations enacted in 2010, as does every industry. How about booting out the ratbags rather than vilifying the whole industry. The outcome from what is being said and proposed is going to make the job harder, it’s going to increase costs for advisers and insurers, and this is ultimately going to flow through to consumers in the form of less diversified products and increased premiums. If the report from Aussie is followed through there, and here, consumers are going to face the very real issue of having to pay for the advice they receive, which means many won’t get the advice, or the covers, they need. www.nzherald.co.n…
