Before buying a house understand your credit score. In addition to knowing what your credit scores are, it’s important to know what they mean. Various lenders use different standards, but in a rough sense, here is what the numbers mean: Under 580 is poor 580 to 669 is fair 670 to 739 is good 740 to 799 is very good 800 to 850 is great Having a low score won’t necessarily prevent you from getting a loan, but it will likely force you to pay more for financing.
