Over 50 people attended Berwyn’s “First-Time Home Buyers Workshop” on Sunday November 20. @realty_of_chicago partnered with Guaranteed Financial Corp local businesses and the Berwyn Park District to host the workshop at Proksa Park. Participants gave the thumbs up with positive feedback as “interactive” “engaged” and “I learned so much.” Gerardo Zavala REALTOR at Realty of Chicago and colleagues covered finding the property showings placing an offer contracts and negotiations. Javier Arellano mortgage lender at Guaranteed Financial and his team covered income credit types of loans downpayment programs and closing requirements. “There’s so much to learn when buying a home and it’s to your advantage to understand the process” says Eddie “Eduardo” Garcia Founder and President of Real of Chicago. “We are proud to fill the gap and serve our community through financial education and resources.” The workshop included “Five Knowledge Stations.” Each station housed an expert in their field included Income Credit Downpayment Programs Real Estate Buyers Process and Under Contract. Everyone who worked the event is passionate to share their knowledge because they love what they do. Groups of ten started at one station then rotated every 15-minutes covering all stations in just over an hour. One participant said “it felt like a one-on-one where you can ask questions” and “I took many notes.” Many participants took notes and also requested the presentation slides after the event. Below are the lender slides for review. Participants learned that getting pre-approved from a mortgage lender is one of the first steps towards home ownership.
